Visit by Mr. Bolbongse Vangphaen, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Thailand

팔라퐁 왕팬 태국 외교부 아세안국장 방문

The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) welcomed the visit of Mr. Bolbongse Vangphaen, Director-General of the Department of ASEAN Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kingdom of Thailand, on 27 September.

During his meeting with H.E. Kim Jae-shin, Secretary General of AKC, Mr. Vangphaen, who is also one of the Council Directors of the ASEAN-Korea Centre, assessed the AKC’s role in promoting ASEAN-Korea relations and expressed his gratitude for its hard work. Especially, he commended the ASEAN Week 2024, commemorating the 35th anniversary of the ASEAN-Korea dialogue relations and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the AKC in 2024, and committed his active cooperation for the program’s success.

Secretary General Kim Jae-shin asked for Thailand’s continued interest and participation in AKC activities, mentioning that Thailand has taken on the role of country coordinator for ASEAN-Korea relations from August 2024.

한-아세안센터이사회 멤버이기도 한 팔라퐁 왕팬 국장은 김재신 사무총장과의 면담에서 한-아세안 관계 증진을 위한 한-아세안센터의 역할을 평가하고 사의를 표했습니다. 특히, 2024년 한-아세안 대화관계 수립 35주년 및 한-아세안센터 설립 15주년을 기념하는 아세안위크 2024 개최를 환영하며 성공적인 행사 개최를 위해 적극적인 협조를 약속했습니다.

한편, 김재신 사무총장은 2024년 하반기부터 태국이 한-아세안 대화조정국이 된 것을 언급하며 한-아세안센터 활동에 태국의 각별한 관심과 참여를 요청하였습니다.
