Seminar on ASEAN-Korea Tourism 2023

2023 한-아세안 관광세미나 개최

Under the theme of ‘Meet the Locals towards a Sustainable ASEAN-Korea Tourism,’ the ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) organized the ‘Seminar on ASEAN-Korea Tourism 2023’ on August 23 in Seoul.

Amid changing trends in tourism and a growing interest in unique and authentic experiences of local tourist destinations, the AKC invited tourism experts of local tourism development from 10 ASEAN member states and Korea to delve into local tourism policies and their best practices.

In particular, Korean speakers from both public and private sectors, including the Executive Director of Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), CEO of SurfyyBeach, and COO of Haenyeo’s Kitchen, shared their experiences in local tourism development and provided valuable insights to the participants.

The AKC will also release a feature article on ASEAN’s 50 hidden and less explored local destinations, that was also shared through country presentations during the Seminar.

한-아세안센터는 8월 23일 ’지속가능한 지역관광개발’이라는 주제로 ‘2023 한-아세안 관광세미나’를 개최하였다.

코로나19 이후, 관광 트렌드가 변하며 정형화된 관광지가 아닌 지역의 고유성과 독특한 경험을 추구하는 지역관광에 대한 관심이 증가함에 따라, 한-아세안센터는 한국과 아세안 10개국의 지역관광개발 담당자를 초대하여 국가별 지속가능한 지역관광 정책 현황과 국가별 모범사례를 소개하였다.

특히 이번 세미나에서는 ‘한국관광공사 실장, 양양 서피비치 대표, 제주 해녀의 부엌 부대표가 참석하여 ‘지역관광개발’에 대한 공공부문과 민간 부문의 경험을 바탕으로 다채로운 한국의 지역관광 콘텐츠를 소개하여 참석자들에게 통찰력을 제공하였다.

한-아세안센터는 참석자들의 발표내용을 바탕으로 ‘꼭 가봐야 할 아세안의 지역관광지 50선’을 선보일 예정이다.
