한-아세안센터는 2023년 7월 18일부터 26일까지 서울과 다낭에서 ‘2023 한-아세안 청년 네트워크 워크숍’을 개최했습니다. ‘청년들이 그리는 미래: 상호 인식 증진과 관광혁신을 중심으로’를 주제로 한 이번 워크숍은 아세안 10개국과 한국의 대학(원)생 48명이 참가했습니다. 서울 프로그램은 한국외국어대학교 동남아시아 연구소와, 다낭 프로그램은 두이탄 대학교(Duy Tan University)와 공동 개최했습니다.

9일 동안 간 한-아세안 청년은 ▲한-아세안 관계, ▲아세안 공동체, ▲한국과 아세안 청년 간 상호 인식 및 ▲혁신적이고 지속가능한 관광에 대한 전문가들의 강연을 듣고, ▲서울(김칫간, 인사동, 하이커 그라운드 등)과 다낭(린응사, 오행산, 호이안 등)의 주요 시설 탐방, ▲팀별 과제 수행, ▲문화 체험 등을 통해 서로에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히고 우정을 쌓았습니다.

특히, 팀별 과제 수행에서 참가자들은 한-아세안 상호 인식을 주제로 한 영상을 제작 및 발표 하였으며, 지속가능한 관광과 기술 혁신, 그리고 상호 이해에 기반을 둔 협력을 바탕으로 새롭고 참신한 아이디어를 통해 앞으로 한-아세안이 추구해야 할 관광의 미래에 대한 비전을 제시했습니다.

금번 워크숍은 2013년 시작되었으나 코로나 19로 중단된 이후, 3년만에 재개되었으면 앞으로도 주요 글로벌 어젠다에 맞춰 다양한 주제로 한국과 아세안에서 개최될 예정입니다.

The ASEAN-Korea Centre held the ‘2023 ASEAN-Korea Youth Network Workshop’ in Seoul and Danang from July 18th to 26th, 2023. The workshop, held under the theme of ‘Youth Shaping the Future: Building Enhanced Perceptions among Youths and Innovating Changes in Tourism,’ was attended by 48 university students from 10 ASEAN countries and Korea. During the workshop, participants engaged in various activities to enhance their knowledge about ASEAN and ASEAN-Korea relations, improve their mutual understanding of one another, and build friendships. The Korean program was co-hosted by the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, while the Vietnam program was co-hosted by Duy Tan University.

During the nine-days event, ASEAN and Korean youth deepened their understanding of each other and built friendships through a series of activities, including: ▲ lectures by experts on ASEAN-Korea relations, ASEAN Community, mutual perceptions between ASEAN and Korean youths, and on innovative and sustainable tourism; ▲ site visits to facilities in Seoul (e.g., Kimchi Museum, Insa-dong, Hikr Ground) and Danang (e.g., Linh Ung Pagoda, Marble Mountains, Hoi An); ▲ team assignments; and ▲ cultural experiences.

In particular, during the team assignments, participants worked together to create and present videos on the topic of enhancing mutual understanding between ASEAN and Korea. They also presented visions for the future of tourism that ASEAN and Korea should pursue together, based on innovative ideas involving sustainable tourism, technological innovation, and cooperation grounded on mutual understanding.

The Workshop has been held annually since 2013 but was suspended during COVID-19. The program resumed this year for the first time in three years and is planned to continue to be held in ASEAN and Korea every year with diverse themes aligned with major global agendas.
