Statistics on Korea’s overseas investment from 1st to 4th quarter of 2020 were finally released. In 2020, the amount of foreign direct investment from Korea to ASEAN reached USD 9.2 billion. Investment to Singapore recorded USD 3,793 million, making up 41.4% of total Korea’s investment to ASEAN, and exceeding the volume invested in Viet Nam for 2020 which stood at USD 2,688 million (29.3% of total FDI to ASEAN). The number of Korean enterprises that were newly established in 2020 was 786, which was less than the previous year (1,394).
