[ASEAN Week 2024] Unveiling of the “Jeju Olle Trail 8 Route: ASEAN-Korea Olle”

[2024 아세안 위크] “제주올레 8코스: 한-아세안 올레” 제막

The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) unveiled “Jeju Olle Trail 8 Route: ASEAN-Korea Olle” in cooperation with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Olle Foundation as part of ASEAN Week 2024 in Seogwipo, Jeju on 8 November. The event was also served in honor of the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-Korea dialogue relations and its elevation to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The “Jeju Olle Trail 8 Route: ASEAN-Korea Olle” endeavors to promote Korea’s beautiful natural landscapes to ASEAN visitors, while also fostering the understanding of ASEAN among Koreans. Along with the unveiling of the ASEAN-Korea Olle Trail, there were also the launches of the commemorative signage and bench for all ASEAN Member States.

Following the events, an opening ceremony for the “ASEAN Culture & Tourism Book Corner” was held at the Jeju International Peace Centre, where the AKC’s Jeju ASEAN Hall is located. The book corner features a collection of books showcasing the cultural and tourism resources of ASEAN, donated by the ASEAN-Korea Centre and the 10 ASEAN Embassies in Korea.

Since 2022, the AKC has cooperated with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju International Peace Center to set up and manage the “Jeju ASEAN Hall” to introduce the culture and tourism resources of ASEAN.

한-아세안센터는 2024 아세안 위크의 일환으로 제주도청, 제주올레(사)와 함께 금년 한-아세안 대화관계 35주년과 포괄적 전략동반자 관계로의 격상을 기념하며 ‘제주올레 8코스: 한-아세안 올레’ 제막식을 11월 8일에 개최하였습니다.

“제주 올레 8코스: 한-아세안 올레”는 아세안 방문객에게 한국의 아름다운 자연경관을 알리고, 한국인들에게 아세안에 대한 인식을 제고할 것으로 기대됩니다. 금번 제막식에서 한국과 아세안을 소개하는 기념 표지판 및 벤치도 선보였습니다.

이후, 한-아세안센터의 제주 아세안홀이 있는 제주국제평화센터에서 아세안의 문화 및 관광 자원을 소개하는 ‘아세안 문화관광 북코너’ 개관식이 열렸습니다. 북코너에서는 한-아세안센터와 아세안 10개국의 대사관이 기증한 아세안의 문화 및 관광 관련 도서들을 만나 볼 수 있습니다. 

한편, 센터는 지난 2022년부터 제주도청, 제주국제평화센터와 공동으로 ‘제주 아세안홀’을 개관해 아세안의 문화관광 자원을 소개하고 있습니다.
