32회 아세안 조정위원회(ACC) 회의 및 2023 아세안 외교장관 리트리트 회의 성명
아세안은 새로운 의장국 인도네시아의 주도로 ‘아세안의 중요성: 성장의 중심지(ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth)’를 주제로 하여 아세안 10개국 장관들로 구성된 제32차 아세안 조정위원회와(2. 3) 외교장관 리트리트 회의(2. 4)를 연이어 자카르타에서 개최함. 동 회의에서 2023년 아세안의 우선순위는 물론 아세안 공동체, 아세안 단결 및 중심성, 아세안의 대외 파트너십 강화 방안에 대해서 심층적으로 논의함.

인도네시아, 아세안 역내 전기차 생태계 추진 계획 언급
2023년 새롭게 의장국으로 출범한 인도네시아는 1차 장관급 회담, 아세안 조정위원회(ACC) 회의, 포럼 메르데카 바랏(FMB9) 컨퍼런스 등을 통하여 에너지 안보 강화와 공급망 구축을 위한 전기차 생태계 구축과 아세안 국가 간 청정∙재생에너지 전환 지원의 필요성을 강조해옴.
인도네시아는 아세안 내 전기차 생산에 관한 통합된 표준 제정, 충전소 등 인프라 확충을 위한 협력 등 구체적인 방안을 제시하고 장기적인 협력 구상안을 마련할 계획이라 밝힘.
인도네시아 조코 위도도 대통령은 2022년 11월 제25차 아세안-일본 정상회의에서 전기차 제조와 배터리 생산에 대한 투자 강화를 요청하고, 일론 머스크 테슬라 최고경영자(CEO)를 만나 투자 계획을 논의하는 등 전기차 생태계 개발 및 확대에 박차를 가하고 있음.
Statement for the 32nd Meeting of ASEAN Coordinating Council and ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat
The ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Retreat was held on February 4, 2023, in Jakarta, Indonesia, as the first major meeting under Indonesia’s chairmanship of ASEAN with the theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth.” The meeting was preceded by the 32nd Meeting of the ASEAN Coordinating Council (ACC) on February 3.

Indonesia announces plans to develop regional EV ecosystem in ASEAN

As the ASEAN chair country this year, Indonesia emphasized the need to build a regional ecosystem for electronic vehicles (EVs) to strengthen energy security, form supply chains, and facilitate the transition to clean and renewable energy in the region through meetings such as those among ministers, the ASEAN Coordinating Committee (ACC), and Forum Merdeka Barat (FMB9).
Indonesia stressed the need to adopt a unified standard to produce EVs in ASEAN, collaborate in expanding infrastructure, and develop a long-term cooperation initiative.
In November last year, Indonesian President Joko Widodo urged for more investments in EV manufacturing and battery production at the 25th ASEAN-Japan Summit and held talks with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on investment plans.
