한-아세안센터는 2월 16일(목)-17일(금) 양일간 제15차 한-아세안센터 연례 이사회*를 서울에서 개최했습니다.

*한-아세안센터 연례 이사회(Annual Meeting of the Council of the AKC): 한국과 아세안 10개국, 총 11개 회원국의 정부 고위 관료들로 구성된 한-아세안센터의 최고 의사결정 기관

한-아세안센터의 2022년 사업을 점검하고 2023년 사업 계획 및 예산 편성을 논의하기 위한 이번 이사회에서 참석자들은 센터의 지난 사업을 성공적으로 평가하면서 내년 사업에 대한 기대감을 표명했습니다.

센터는 대한민국 정부가 ‘한-아세안 연대 구상’을 발표하고 금년도 아세안 의장국인 인도네시아가 ‘성장의 진원지로서 아세안의 중요성’이라는 슬로건을 내세운 만큼, 한-아세안 협력 증진을 위해 긴밀한 협력을 희망한다는 뜻을 전했습니다.

한편, 이사회를 계기로 열린 환영 리셉션에는 회의 참석자들을 비롯하여 주한 아세안 대사 및 유관기관, 학계, 언론 등에서 총 130여 명이 참석하여 네트워크를 강화하였습니다.

The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) hosted the 15th Annual Meeting of the Council in Seoul on February 16 and 17.

Council of the AKC is the supreme organ for the AKC and is comprised of high-level government representatives from the 10 ASEAN member states and Korea.

The Meeting reviewed the results of the AKC’s FY2022 programs and discussed new programs and budget for FY2023, as well as recognized the AKC’s crucial role in boosting support for the ASEAN-Korea partnership. They further expressed their hopes for the success of AKC programs in the coming fiscal year.

The AKC shared that it will continue to undertake efforts to boost ASEAN-Korea cooperation as the Korean government recently announced the “Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative (KASI)” and Indonesia, the ASEAN chair country for 2023, newly adopted the theme “ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth.”

On the occasion of the meeting, the AKC hosted a welcoming reception for 130 participants to strengthen networks among and between its key partners from ASEAN embassies in Seoul, relevant organizations, academia, and media.
