제26차 한-아세안 대화 개최 (2022. 7. 1)

제26차 한-아세안 대화가 7. 1(금) 서울에서 개최됨. 한국과 아세안 간 연례적으로 개최하는 고위협의체인 동 회의에서 외교부는 한-아세안 양측의 협력을 점검하고 지역 및 국제 정세에 대한 논의가 이루어졌다고 발표함.

한국 정부는 아세안과 호혜적 협력을 통한 상생 연대를 더욱 강화해나갈 것을 밝히고, 아세안 측은 한-아세안 관계 도약 의지를 직접 느낄 수 있는 기회였다고 평가함. 참석자들은 국제 정세에 대해서 의견을 교환하고, 특별히 메콩 지역, 해양동남아(Maritime Southeast Asia) 등 아세안 내 지역 협력을 강화하여 아세안의 포용적 성장을 지원하는 것을 강조함.

또한 양측은 인도태평양 경제프레임워크(IPEF)가 역내 경제성장을 촉진하고 협력을 도모하는 계기가 될 수 있도록 정부 간 긴밀한 협력을 희망한다는 뜻을 전함.

 

26th ASEAN-ROK Dialogue (July 1, 2022)

The 26th ASEAN-ROK Dialogue, an annual high-level consultative meeting between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and ASEAN Member States, was held in Seoul on July 1. Both sides had in-depth discussions on boosting their partnership and on recent regional and international issues, the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

At the meeting, the ROK government shared its initiatives in achieving a mutually beneficial cooperation with ASEAN, while ASEAN Member States viewed the dialogue as an important occasion to build a forward trajectory of cooperation plans. The meeting also emphasized supporting inclusive growth in ASEAN by strengthening inter-regional cooperation, such as in the Mekong region and on the maritime affairs in Southeast Asia.

Furthermore, ASEAN and ROK also agreed to strengthen cooperation in promoting economic security amid growing uncertainty in the global economy towards enhancing opportunities through the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF).

 

한-메콩 고위관리회 개최 (2022. 7. 12)

한-메콩 고위관리회의가 7. 12(화) 화상으로 개최됨. 외교부는 메콩 5개국(캄보디아, 라오스, 미얀마, 태국, 베트남) 협의체와의 회의에서 한-메콩 미래 협력 방향에 대한 논의가 이루어졌다고 발표함.

한국 정부는 메콩 국가들과의 협력 강화를 희망한다는 뜻을 전하고 올해 6차를 맞는 한-메콩 협력기금 사업 주요 현황을 공유함. 메콩 5개국 측은 한국의 기여를 인정하고 향후 디지털-에너지 전환, 식량 안보, 인적교류 활성화, 기후변화 대응 등 신규 분야에서도 한국과 긴밀히 협력하겠다는 의사를 밝힘.

양측 SOM 대표들은 오늘 회의를 통해 내실 있는 논의가 이루어졌다고 평가하고, 한-메콩 외교장관회의(8월) 및 정상회의(11월)의 성공적인 개최를 위해 지속적으로 협의해나갈 것을 약속함.

 

Mekong-ROK Senior Officials’ Meeting (July 12, 2022)

The Mekong-ROK Senior Officials’ Meeting of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the five Mekong countries—Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam—was held on July 12 online. Both sides discussed ways to foster the Mekong-ROK partnership, the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The ROK government reported on the progress achieved by the Mekong-Korea Cooperation Fund (MKCF), while the Mekong countries acknowledged MKCF’s contribution in effectively implementing cooperation projects in the Mekong region. The six countries agreed to further expand cooperation in new areas such as digital and energy conversion, food security, climate change and the revitalization of people-to-people exchanges.

Senior official representatives welcomed the fruitful discussions from the meeting towards the development of concrete development plans for fostering cooperation and further agreed to work closely to successfully hold the ROK-Mekong Ministerial Meeting in August and the ROK-Mekong Summit in November.
