Participation in the 11th Meeting of the ASEAN-Korea Joint Cooperation Committee
제11차 한-아세안 공동협력위원회 회의 참석
The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) attended the 11th Meeting of the ASEAN-Korea Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC)* held at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia on March 21, 2024. The Meeting was co-chaired by the Ambassador of ROK to ASEAN Lee Jang-keun and the Permanent Representative of Vietnam to ASEAN Nguyen Hai Bang and attended by the Committee of Permanent Representatives to ASEAN (CPR). At the Meeting, Ambassador Lee Jang-keun and the CPR discussed the progress of the implementation of the ASEAN-ROK Plan of Action, follow-up measures to the 24th ASEAN-ROK Summit in September 2023, and the priorities of the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024.
* Held in the first half of each year at the ASEAN Secretariat, ASEAN-Korea JCC discusses the implementation of various ASEAN-Korea cooperation programs in areas ranging from security, economy, culture, environment, and education.
For the agenda item of “Review of ASEAN-ROK Cooperation and Future Direction,” Ms. Cho Hyung-hwa, Head of Development Planning and General Affairs Unit of AKC, presented AKC’s key implementation programs in 2023 and highlighted its plans and activities for 2024. Furthermore, she informed the Meeting of Commemorative International Conference on ASEAN-Korea Partnership 2024 to be held in November in commemoration of the 35th anniversary of the ASEAN-Korea dialogue relations and the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the AKC and sought for their support and cooperation.
On this occasion, the AKC delegation also had a consultative meeting with the ASEAN Secretariat to discuss ways for closer cooperation.
한-아세안센터는 3월 21일 인도네시아 자카르타 소재 아세안 사무국에서 개최된 제11차 한-아세안 공동협력위원회* 회의에 참석했습니다. 이장근 주아세안 대한민국 대표부 대사와 응우옌 하이 방(Nguyen Hai Bang) 주아세안 베트남 대사의 공동 주재 하에, 아세안상주대표위원회(CPR)와 이장근 대사는 한-아세안 행동계획 (ASEAN-ROK Plan of Action) 이행 현황, 지난해 9월 개최된 한-아세안 정상회의 후속 조치, 2024년 아세안 의장국의 주요 계획 등에 대해 논의했습니다.
* 한-아세안간 정치, 경제, 문화, 환경 및 교육 협력 등 다양한 분야의 협력이행을 논의하는 협의체로서 매년 상반기 아세안 사무국에서 개최
한-아세안센터 조형화 기획총무국장은, 지난해 센터의 주요 사업과 올해 계획에 대해 소개하였습니다. 특히, 한-아세안 대화관계 35주년과 한-아세안센터 설립 15주년을 기념하여 올 11월 개최 예정인 기념사업인 2024 한-아세안 관계조망 국제회의에 대해 설명하고 많은 관심과 협조를 당부하였습니다.
한편, 동 계기에 한-아세안센터 대표단은 아세안 사무국과의 면담을 통해 센터와 사무국 간 긴밀한 협력을 위한 방안을 모색했습니다.
