The Weekly ASEAN Highlights released in March present the beautiful nature and artistic landscapes of ASEAN under the theme of “Art & Lifestyle.” Rediscover ASEAN’s hidden gems as you prepare for a healing trip to the region.

In Malaysia, a variety of festivals celebrate the diverse cultures and religions of the country. Thaipusam, a Hindu practice of asceticism; Hari Raya Aidilfitri, a celebration of the end of Ramadan; and the harvest festivals held in the Sabah and Sarawak regions are a few examples. In Pakse in southern Lao PDR, you can witness the history of the Kingdom of Champasak at Vat Phou Temple (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and the Great Buddha Statue of Phu Salao.

In Indonesia, you can enjoy various water activities surrounded by pristine nature at Bunaken National Marine Park and encounter the world’s rarest animals and plants at Tangkoko National Park in Manado. Cambodia is known for the Angkor ruins, but Kandal Village, Artisans Angkor, and Phare Circus also provide a glimpse of Cambodian art in the streets of Siem Reap.
