The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) participated in the ASEAN Tourism Marketing Partnership Working Group meeting hosted by the ASEAN Secretariat on Tuesday, March 9, 2021.
At the meeting, the ASEAN Secretariat presented the key cornerstones of the ASEAN Tourism Marketing Strategy 2021–2025 and shared strategies to revitalize the ASEAN tourism market, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19. They particularly emphasized their hope for more tourists to visit ASEAN through cooperative projects with major international organizations in the tourism sector.
The ASEAN-Korea Centre also shared its major achievements in tourism promotion for 2020 and plans for 2021. The Centre reaffirmed its commitment to invigorate tourism and people-to-people exchange between ASEAN and Korea as well as its plans to improve contactless programs to accommodate the changing environment of the post-pandemic era.
The meeting served as an opportunity for the Centre to receive updates on the current status of and plans for tourism marketing in ASEAN, as well as to exchange information and explore cooperation in promoting ASEAN-Korea tourism.
