한-아세안센터는 한국과 아세안 연구자 및 학생들 사이의 학술 교류를 더욱 확대하기 위해 다양한 교류 프로그램을 진행할 뿐 아니라, 외부 학술 교류 활동에도 활발히 참여하여 국내외 동남아 학계와의 네트워크를 확장하기 위해 노력하고 있습니다.

센터는 7월 25-26일 캄보디아 시엠립(Siem Reap)에서 개최된 ‘제1차 아세안 청년 대화’와 온라인 사전프로그램에 참가했습니다. 한국과 아세안 10개국 청년 68명이 참석한 이번 행사는 한아세안협력기금(AKCF)의 후원으로 아세안사무국과 캄보디아 교육·청년·청소년부가 공동 개최했습니다. ‘4차 산업혁명 시대의 청년: 기회와 도전’이라는 대화 주제로 진행된 이번 행사에서 참가자들은 청년 지도자와 기업가들의 강연을 통해 청년 역량 강화와 지역 통합 참여 방안을 논의하고 의견을 교환했습니다. 사전 프로그램에서 센터는 2021 한-아세안 청년 상호 이식도 조사 결과를 공유하고 향후 한-아세안의 지속가능한 파트너쉽을 위한 청년들의 역할을 강조했습니다.

주한 아세안 교수협의회는 8월 11과 26일 두 차례에 걸쳐 학술대회에 참여했습니다. 인도네시아 파라향안 가톨릭 대학교에서 주최한 ‘제3회 국제관계 컨퍼런스’와 한국동남아학회에서 주최한 ‘2022 연례 학술대회’에 참여한 협의회 회원들은 한-아세안 관계에 대한 연구 결과를 발표하고 참석자들과 질의응답의 시간을 가졌습니다. 회원들은 이번 학술 컨퍼런스 참여를 통해 진행중인 연구에 대한 의견을 교환하고 국내외 한국과 아세안 학계인사들과 네트워크를 구축했습니다.

The ASEAN-Korea Centre (AKC) continues to actively contribute to the development of a more dynamic and sustainable ASEAN-Korea partnership through its academic exchange activities.

On July 25–26, the Centre participated in the 1st ASEAN Youth Dialogue in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Bringing together 68 ASEAN and Korean youths, the event was co-organized by the Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the ASEAN Secretariat with the support of the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund. Under the theme “Youth in the Era of Fourth Industrial Revolution: Opportunities and Challenges”, participants were provided with opportunities to engage senior government representatives of the ASEAN Senior Official’s Meeting on Youth (SOMY) and exchanged ideas on policy recommendations for youth-capacity building and inter-regional integration and development. The Centre participated in both the pre-departure and on-site provisional programs. Particularly, as part of the pre-departure program, the Centre shared with youth delegates on the results of the “2021 Survey on Mutual Perceptions of ASEAN and Korean Youths” and highlighted on the importance of youth’s role in fostering a sustainable ASEAN-Korea partnership and opportunities for collaboration.

On August 11 and 26, the Council of ASEAN Professors in Korea (CAPK) participated in two academic conferences: 1) the 3rd Biennial International Conference on International Relations (ICON-IR) organized by Parahyangan Catholic University in Indonesia, and 2) the KASEAS 2022 Annual Conference organized by the Korean Association of Southeast Asian Studies. Members of the CAPK presented research results on ASEAN-Korea relations from fields such as education, economics, migration, and labor. Through such opportunities, CAPK members were able to exchange views and ideas and build closer networks with academics and experts from both ASEAN and Korea.
